Sunday April 23 2017 Ellensburg, Washington I heard Pink Floyd on the radio, and for the first tiem realized Jim was quoting from the second side of Dark Side of the Moon, when he wrote about "loonies on the path" and other verses from Brain Damage (?) and Eclipse (?). There was a neurotic, psychotic laugh overlain on the musical track, overdubbed probably, that was jarring to me and sounded ugly,k unmusical, mean, evil, like the Joker in Batman, uncaring about moral cruelty. I liked the bass line's confidence and occasional laying back on the beat, very cool. But I think it should have swung more. In the middle of Money they go into a shuffle blues and why didn't Pink Floyd stick with that feel forever? iI had to turn on Rahsaan Roland Kirk on CD, We Free Kings, to blow out the depression created by Pink Floyed and thinking about how Jim was thinking of this song when he wrote his note. Moon Song and A Sack Full of Soul helped a lot because they swing harder and aspire to pure beautiful music in every note.
