Tuesday, June 21, 2016 "Big Hands, I know you're the one" Girl in Chaco Canyon National Park Walked up beside my car as I was preparing to leave a picnic site up the road from the visitor center She read the geological interpretive sign with attention, standing with her weight slightly more on one leg Skirt, below the knee, dark hair, sunglasses, flat burlap (?) sack purse Very cool, looked fit, attractive "Why is it always reminding me of a love dream that never could be?" --- The first quoted lyric is from, I believe, the Violent Femmes song "Blister in the Sun". I think it's an ironic line: "I know you're the one" but really the singer knows she isn't the one, because she has big hands. The second quoted lyric is from Moon Song, which I got from a Louis Armstrong with Oscar Peterson rendition. "Moon Song" has a swinging melody, and Louis and Oscar and the band step up to swing it hard. "It came ridin into my heart glidin on a moonbeam from above. Sorrow ended and the whole world blended in a rhapsody of love." If only.
