Physicist on Science Friday, from Delft University, which I took a Solar Energy MOOC from, said there is a saying in physics: More is different. More atoms show emergence: more atoms will align.

Thus the "no scale effects" assumption of Thermodynamics is contradicted by Physics.

Basically the laws of Thermodynamics, used to justify the economic assumption that there is no free lunch, rest on deeply flawed assumptions.

Dude was aligning atoms to store a kilobyte. He said there's a point at which atoms decide to all point in one direction. Before that point, they are chaotically-pointed.
